As an international student in Canada, you are offered one of the world’s most competitive packages in terms of immigration and settlement benefits.
While you are allowed to work part-time while you study in Canada, you need the Post-Graduation Work Permit to gain full-time work experience after you complete your program. Eligibility criteria for PGWP
You must have studied full time in Canada and your course duration should not have been less than eight months.
You must apply for a work permit within 180 days of completing your course. You must have written proof (transcript or an official letter) from the college/university indicating the same.
You must have a valid status in Canada when you apply for the PGWP.
You must have maintained full-time student status in Canada during each academic session of the program of study you have completed, and submit a proof as part of your PGWP application.
Language Requirements
We require all our students to score a minimum of 6 bands in IELTS Academic test. However, this is not final as many Universities have a higher requirement of English Test scores. Most Master’s Degrees require a minimum score of 6.5 bands in IELTS.
Since the pandemic, many Colleges and even Universities have started accepting online Duolingo test scores for admission purposes. However it is important to remember that IRCC does not accept Duolingo test scores and while it can be used for admission, it cannot be used for visa application.
