Study Visa for Ireland

International students in Ireland are allowed 20 hours of part-time work during their degree programs in Ireland, this makes the country so much more affordable. Not only this, a student holding valid immigration Stamp 2 permission will be permitted to work 40 hours in scheduled breaks.

Once you have finished studying in Ireland, you may qualify for the Third Level Graduate Scheme. This is possible only if you were enrolled as a full-time student, in an Irish accredited degree program.

The Visa Stamp 1G is now granted to International students who graduate from Ireland and are permitted to work under the Third Level Graduate Scheme. If you have Stamp 1G, you don’t need to apply for a visa extension separately.

The time of extension is also dependent on your level in the National Framework of Qualifications. For those with a Level 7 degree, a 6-month extension is granted. Level 8 receives a 1-year extension, and Level 9 students can stay back for 2 years.

A Degree Program refers to full-time academic programs in Ireland leading to major awards at or above Level 7 of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
