Global acclaim for its quality of life, education, watches and chocolate does absolute justice to the breathtaking land of Switzerland. Imagine sipping on decadent hot chocolate with snow-capped mountains in the background – surreal, isn’t it? As a student in Switzerland, this will very much be a reality for you! At EduVisa Services, our focus is on unrivalled education and we counsel students to achieve their dream careers!
Here is why you should study in Switzerland:
Securing first place as the most innovative country in the world in The Global Innovation Index, Switzerland is one of the biggest and fastest-growing economies, owing to the large services sector, diversified manufacturing base, and focus on niche markets.
Switzerland has 7,000 Lakes - students in Switzerland will bear witness to the fact that Swiss lakes are the best ones to swim in, and there are plenty of choices. Lake Geneva is the largest lake in Switzerland and is shared with France. For the most part, the freshwater is so clear that you can drink out of rivers and lakes.
As an international student in Switzerland, you will realize that it’s perfectly acceptable if you sometimes do not understand what other person says to you, because the Swiss have 4 national languages!
If you don’t know already, you will definitely be learning about the Swiss and their longstanding affair with chocolate. They make about 180,000 tons of chocolate, and an average resident consumes 11 kgs of chocolate each year - they even have a chocolate train!
Switzerland provides almost completely CO2-friendly electricity to its citizens. Switzerland has commenced an energy transition process (‘Energy Strategy 2050’), aiming to phase out nuclear power – it’s a perfect place for those who want to be more involved in doing their bit to reverse climate change.
Each January, a colorful hot air balloon festival spanning over nine days is held at the Château-d’Oex in the Vaud Alps. You will see balloons shaped like famous characters, go for hot air balloon rides, and watch a majestic nighttime show.
If you’re a fan of Heidiland (you may have studied this in school!), visiting the wine village Maienfeld is a must. This region has been associated with Heidiland since 1881, Johanna Spyri published the novels. There are plenty of hiking and skiing trails for adventure-seekers. As students in Switzerland, this is an opportunity you shouldn’t miss!
Switzerland produces about one million hectolitres of wine per year. They export only 2% of their wine, so if you are someone with an inquisitive palate, Swiss Wine Tasting Certifications are the best in the world and will help get you some high-paying jobs for sure (which helps tremendously with extra income, something an international student always needs!)
